What is Male Sexual Dysfunction?
Male sexual dysfunction refers to a range of issues that can affect a man’s ability to engage in sexual activity satisfactorily. It includes conditions such as erectile dysfunction (difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection), premature ejaculation (reaching orgasm too quickly), delayed ejaculation (difficulty reaching orgasm), and low libido (lack of sexual desire). These conditions can have physical, psychological, or a combination of both causes, and they can significantly impact a man’s sexual relationships and overall well-being. Treatment options vary depending on the specific condition and its underlying causes.

Male Sexual Dysfunction
While it may be difficult for some men to admit there is a large number of males that suffer from Erectile Dysfunction. Several studies have looked at the prevalence of ED. The Massachusetts Male Aging Study reported a prevalence of 52%. The study demonstrated that ED is increasingly prevalent with age. At age 40, approximately 40% of men are affected.
The rate increases to nearly 70% in men aged 70 years. The prevalence of complete ED increases from 5% to 15% as age increases from 40 to 70 years. Age was the variable most strongly associated with ED. In fact, it is estimated that well over 30 Million men in the United States alone suffer from ED.
Unfortunately of the 30 Million men afflicted with Erectile Dysfunction, only 25% of these men are treated leaving an estimated 22 Million men still suffering from the effects of ED. At Rewind Anti-Aging of Miami, our well-trained physicians work with our patients to determine the root cause of the ED and determine the appropriate treatment.
Our Approach to Treating Erectile Dysfunction
Our team of highly skilled physicians in Miami begins by conducting a thorough interview and analysis of our patients. Based on their individual needs, we employ a range of treatments, either individually or in combination, to effectively address Erectile Dysfunction.
Penile Injection Therapy
Intracavernous injection therapy is the process whereby a small amount of a chemical is injected directly into the corpora cavernosa. These chemicals are smooth muscle relaxants and thus help increase blood flow into the penis. Learn More about Penile Injection Therapy
Viagra and Cialis
The first-line treatment of erectile dysfunction typically consists of a prescription drug a PDE5 inhibitor medication.
At Rewind Anti-Aging we have several different blends of these medicines that can enhance the sexual experience more than just the inhibitor itself.
These blends include the PDE5 inhibitor with Oxytocin and Testosterone among others. These drugs encourage erections by increasing blood flow to the penis.Learn More about Enhanced Viagra
Hormone Replacement Therapy
Low testosterone levels can negatively impact a male’s sex life. Lowered testosterone levels can reduce sex drive as well as the ability to achieve an erection. By successfully treating Low T our Miami-based HRT physicians can also positively impact a patient’s ED issues.
Treating low testosterone can improve a man’s sex life by restoring his libido and brightening his mood, thereby renewing his interest in sex. Learn More about Hormone Replacement Therapy
What is Erectile Dysfunction?
Erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, is a condition characterized by the consistent inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance. It is a common condition that can affect men of all ages, although it becomes more prevalent with increasing age.
Erectile dysfunction can have various causes, including physical factors such as underlying health conditions (e.g., cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hormonal imbalances), neurological disorders, certain medications, alcohol or drug use, and injury to the pelvic area. Psychological factors such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and performance anxiety can also contribute to erectile dysfunction. The symptoms of erectile dysfunction may include difficulty getting an erection, trouble maintaining an erection, reduced sexual desire, and experiencing a decreased firmness of the penis during sexual activity.
Treatment options for erectile dysfunction depend on the underlying cause and may include lifestyle changes (such as exercise, healthy diet, and avoiding smoking or excessive alcohol consumption), counseling or therapy for psychological factors, medication (such as oral medications like Viagra or Cialis, vacuum erection devices, or injections), and in some cases, surgery.
